A 29-year-old St. Paul man is in custody after pointing a BB gun at a woman dusting snow off her car, apparently angered over the placement of said snow.
St. Paul police were called to a dispute between neighbors at 898 Duchess Street on Jan. 9 around 2:15 p.m. There, a woman told police that she and Saul Lopez-Alvarado had gotten into an argument over where she was putting the snow that she was brushing off her car.
According to the complaint, Lopez-Alvarado took a swing at her, took out a gun and pointed it at her. A witness inside her car told police he saw the attempted hit, and the gun. Police later recovered a Black Ops .177 caliber CO2 gun from Lopez-Alvarado's bathroom.
Lopez-Alvarado's wife told police she went outside and found her husband arguing with the neighbor and said she had slapped her husband. She told police he then grabbed the BB gun out of their garage and held it at his side while the argument ensued. His wife denied her husband actually pulled the gun or pointed it at anyone. Lopez-Alvarado told police he as protecting himself and he had been assaulted before grabbing the gun. He has been charged with two counts of terroristic threats.
