Amazon Prime offering 1-hour alcohol delivery in the Twin Cities

Amazon Prime Now will be offering one-hour delivery of beer, wine and spirits in the Twin Cities area from Surdyk’s starting Thursday, July 28.

"Prime Now offers tens of thousands of items and, due to the popularity of alcohol purchases in other locations, Amazon is excited to expand the service to include this special offering," Amazon said in a press release.

The alcohol delivery service will be available in Minneapolis, St. Paul and surrounding areas such as Eden Prairie, Burnsville, Maple Gove, Andover, Woodbury and White Bear Lake from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., Monday through Saturday.

Through Prime Now, one-hour delivery is $7.99 and two-hour delivery is free.

According to Amazon, the most popular items purchased through the service in the Twin Cities area include orange juice, bananas and Haribo gummy bears.

Prime members can shop at www.primenow.com or download the Prime Now app. Customers will be notified when the service is available in their zip code.
