A tradition lasting more than 135 years, Lake Minnetonka's Independence Day celebration

If you are looking for some fun activities to do this holiday weekend, Lake Minnetonka has a tradition lasting more than 135 years.

Independence Day on Lake Minnetonka is going on all day Saturday, the 4th.

The day’s festivities begin with an Annual Firecracker Fun Run and the Kids' Parade on Water Street that Fox 9 was told, attracts over 1,200 children every year.

There will also be live music. The Wolverines Big Band will be the live entertainment at the Independence Day celebration lasting well into the evening.  

And of course, the reason people go out on the 4th to celebrate, fireworks. The only public fireworks show on Lake Minnetonka.
