90-year-old man found dead, with hands bound, in San Francisco Township

Sheriff's deputies found a 90-year-old man dead, with his hands bound, inside of a home in San Francisco Township, Minn. after a relative requested a welfare check Saturday evening.

The victim was identified as Earl Arthur Olander, who lived alone. Olander's house had been ransacked and he appeared to have been assaulted. Deputies made the discovery when they were called to the home on the 16000 block of Homestead Road at about 7:19 p.m. Saturday.

The Carver County sheriff and Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension are processing the crime scene and investigating the death. Investigators continue to examine evidence to locate witnesses or suspects. Anyone with information is asked to call the Carver County sheriff at 952-361-1212.
