74-year-old drowns in junior high pool in Forest Lake, Minn.

- A 74-year-old man was found dead in a community pool at Southwest Junior High School in Forest Lake, Minnesota Tuesday afternoon.

Shortly before 3 p.m., emergency responders were called to the junior high for a possible drowning in the pool. A man taking a community education class at the pool was discovered by the lifeguard on duty, according to Forest Lake Area Schools superintendent Linda Madsen.

The man was removed from the pool and given CPR by the lifeguard. Emergency personnel took over resuscitation efforts when they arrived on the scene, but were unable to revive the man.

The Washington County sheriff’s office is investigating the incident.
