MINNEAPOLIS (KMSP) - Minneapolis police confirmed a man has died and a woman left critically injured after a shooting in the 2800 block of 15th Avenue S. near Abbott Northwestern early Monday morning.
Police officers were on routine patrol and heard a series of shots about a block away, and found a parked vehicle with a man and woman inside. The man was pronounced dead and the woman, suffering critical injuries, was transported to Hennepin County Medical Center. The suspect had already fled by the time officers arrived.
“The Inspector commanding the 3rd Precinct, Michael Sullivan, is increasing directed patrol in this area as well as asking officers for more community engagement in the affected neighborhood. Residents will see more police in this area and are encouraged to share information and work with officers on this public safety issue,” Minneapolis police said in a news release.
