Minneapolis, KMSP - It was a rare sight to see the pouring rain in November here in the metro. Not only was the rain a rare sight, but so was the lightning and thunder. It was a good soaker for sure. On Wednesday alone, the official guage at the MSP airport recorded 1.73". When it was all said and done, 2.1" inches fell. To put this rain into some kind of perspective, I decided to go back in the records to try to find the last time we received so much rain in November. I finally found the last 3 biggest November rain events, but I had to go back nearly 20 years. I even checked back as far as 1986 and still found our Wednesday rain to be the biggest. Keep in mind, this is November and we usually see snow, about 9.3" on average to be exact.
