4 Minneapolis bicyclists attacked with cement chunks

Minneapolis police said at least 5 people reported someone threw cement chunks at them in the last few weeks. Four of the victims were on bicycles, 1 was in a car. Three of those assaults happened in the on the same day within about 20 minutes.

7/20: Bicycle, serious injury at 6:00 p.m.on 22nd Ave/2nd St. NE

8/4: Bicycle, serious injury at 5:30 p.m. on W. River Pkwy/Lake St.   

8/7: Car, not injured at 4:01 p.m. on 2500 Block 11th Ave. S

8/7: Bicycle; minor injury at 4:20 p.m. on 41st/Bryant Ave. S

8/7: Bicycle, serious injury at 4:20 p.m. on 41st/Aldrich Ave. S

Similar suspect vehicle

Police said the same or a similar suspect vehicle has been described in each case, and “older model white Ford, possibly a Bronco type vehicle or a pickup with a topper on it.  One of the rear windows is missing an either cardboard or wood covers the opening.

Each victim was approached by the suspect “in an erratic manner” before he threw cement chunks at them. The suspect is believed to possibly work construction -- one victim noted he had a yellow vest.
