3M to close Eagan plant, terminating 150 positions

- 3M will be closing its plant in Eagan before the end of 2018, according to a spokesperson, terminating more than 150 positions at the facility.

The move comes after the company decided to discontinue the filtration technology made at the plant, a part of 3M's year-end "business realignment." In addition to the layoffs, 10 positions will be moved to their Maplewood facility.

In total, roughly 430 positions will be lost throughout the U.S. and Mexico, though employees will be given an opportunity to apply for other open positions at the company.
