1-on-1 with the wife of missing Minn. auditor Henry McCabe

- The Anoka County sheriff's dive team searched a couple bodies of water around Henry McCabe's last known tracks on Wednesday. His wife, Kareen McCabe, said Thursday the lack of any real concrete answers is nothing short of frustrating.

“From day to day it's sort of like a rollercoaster,” she said.

Henry McCabe's wife of 11 years has searched high and low over the past 5 weeks for her missing husband. After police were initially informed the Super America on Highway 65 and 73rd Avenue in Fridley where he was last seen, a few days ago, Mounds View Police Chief Thomas Kinney learned it was actually at the Holiday on Central and 65th where the Department of Revenue auditor and father of two girls was dropped off.

“We haven't been able to rule out any possible scenario,” Kinney said.

Kareen McCabe say’s there’s “just no possibility he left the country. He didn't have a passport.”

The latest clue he left behind is a troubling, hard to decipher voicemail left on his brother’s phone.

“I wondered if something had been put in his drink, how coherent he may have been, all of those questions ran through my mind,” she said.

The call was made after he left a nightclub in Spring Lake Park.

“He said certain words like, ‘they are afraid,’ one word he said was ‘police.’ The other word that he said at the beginning of the audio was ‘Papus,’” she said.

William Papus Kennedy is the man police say dropped McCabe off. His last phone pings have also lead police to the Holiday and Creek View Park, a 44-minute walk from the gas station near a number of wooded areas and bodies of water.

“I don't understand why he would've dropped someone off at a gas station at 2 in the morning,” she said.

One of McCabe’s favorite things to do was listen to Intelligence Squared debates, and according to his wife, he never experimented with any drugs. Anyone who might know of McCabe’s whereabouts is asked to call police. The next search will take place Saturday morning along Rice Creek Road.
