WOODBURY, Minn. (KMSP) - More than 20,000 volunteers in Woodbury, Minn. are working to achieve their lofty goal of packing four million meals for Feed My Starving Children in just four days.
The community packing party was started by King of Kings Lutheran Church. They, along with several other local churches, Girl Scout troops and people from all over Woodbury are working Thursday through Sunday to pack as many vital nutritious meals as possible.
The City of Woodbury donated the Bielenberg Sports Center to accommodate all the scoopers, packers, labelers and runners. They are working with the nonprofit Feed My Starving Children. The volunteers are currently on track to meet their four million meal goal.
10 percent of the money raised through this project will stay local and help the Christian Cupboard Emergency Food Shelf in Woodbury, while the rest will go towards feeding hungry mouths around the globe.
Packing continues Saturday night until 10 p.m. and runs Sunday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
All spots to volunteer are full, however donations are always welcome. You can donate here: https://fmsc.org/
