3 base jumpers leap from River Towers in Minneapolis

Three base jumpers, equipped with parachutes, plummeted 28 floors from a downtown Minneapolis condo building late Sunday night. Minneapolis police said the 3 people broke a lock and got onto the rooftop deck of the River Towers.

The property management company said all 3 landed on Marquette Avenue next to the building, without being hurt.

“They need more constructive hobbies,” said condo owner Carol Siegel, who witnesses the jump. “Someone is going to get hurt.”

The base jumpers were captured on surveillance video, so police do have images to help with their investigation.
