Papaya brand recalled after 47 people sickened, 1 in Minnesota

- The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is warning about cases of E. coli from papayas after 47 people were infected and one person died.

The CDC recommends that consumers not eat, restaurants not serve and retailers not sell Caribeña brand Maradol papayas from Mexico until further notice. 

Of the 47 people infected, 12 were hospitalized. One person in New York died. 

So far, only one person from Minnesota has been infected. 

The CDC warns that if you aren't sure about where a papaya is from, don't eat, sell or serve it.
