Concussion safety a focus for Minnesota youth football coaches

Concussions are an injury that can sideline the career of any football player. Youth coaches got the chance to learn new techniques at The Heads Up Safety Clinic at the Vikings training facility in Eden Prairie. The clinic was hosted by former Vikings defensive back, John Swain. Instructors want to change and educate coaches and players with safety techniques.

"With concussions, we tell you the signs and symptoms of the concussions. Signs are what you see, symptoms are what you feel, because at the end of the day after practice, if little Jimmy gets hurt, if the parents aren't educated and we're educating all the coaches and organizations, all their coaches will be Heads Up-certified,"  USA Football Instructor, Anthony Stone said.
