Children found safe, suspect arrested after alleged Roseville abduction

- Roseville police have arrested woman after she allegedly abducted her two young children in Roseville on Thursday morning. The children were found safe.

Police say around 10:00 a.m., 34-year-old Shameka Monique Hatcher of Minneapolis had a supervised visit with her children at a home in the 3000 block of Fairview Avenue in Roseville.

During the visit, police believe Hatcher abducted her son and daughter: seven-year-old Amere Callaway and five-year-old Elaijah Lomax.

Hatcher left the visit in a silver 2007 Chevrolet Suburban.

Police tracked Hatcher to a family member's apartment on Sims Street in St. Paul. When detectives knocked on the door, the police inside ignored the officers.

After police got a search warrant, Hatcher opened the door and surrendered herself to police.

Officers found her two children unharmed in a bedroom. They will be returned to Hennepin County Foster Care.

Detectives arrested Hatcher and another adult.

Hatcher will be booked at the Ramsey County Jail for her Hennepin County warrant and potential kidnapping charges.
