2 people found dead in Eden Prairie home, 1 in custody

- Police in Eden Prairie, Minnesota are investigating an apparent double murder after two people were found dead inside a home on Woodhill Trail early Thursday morning.

According to Eden Prairie police, officers were called to the home on the 6000 block of Woodhill Trail at 7:21 a.m. to conduct a welfare check on a man who failed to report for work. Inside the home, officers found a man and woman who were both declared dead. There were no other occupants in the home when police arrived.

Eden Prairie police identified a person of interest associated with the address due to several prior 911 calls over the past 10 years. At 11:19 a.m. in Buffalo, Minnesota, Wright County sheriff’s deputies and the Minnesota State Patrol arrested 38-year-old Nathan Thomas Lehman in connection with the deaths.

Lehman was being transferred into the custody of Eden Prairie police Thursday afternoon. Police are not looking for any other suspects.

Eden Prairie police estimated 10 to 12 calls of service at the Woodhill Trail home over the past 10 years, with many of those calls domestic in nature.

The Eden Prairie Police Department and Hennepin County Crime Lab are investigating the circumstances surrounding the deaths. The Hennepin County Medical Examiner will determine the official cause of death and identity of the victims.

At this time, police do not believe this was a random incident.
