Blue Pearl Veterinarian Mallory Salcedo offered tips on how to keep our pets warm during this cold weather.
Salcedo said that strategies such as positive reinforcement – offering treats or going outside with them – can often help with getting your dog to go outside.
She also said that dog owners should maintain a cleared area for their dog so it’s easier for him or her to move around. Salcedo also said that owners can put protective wear on their dogs such as boots with rubber padding.
Overall, dogs shouldn’t be outside longer than 10 minutes in order to avoid getting frostbite.
