Roseville crash leaves 2 in critical condition

- Two men are in critical condition following a head on crash that took place around noon on Friday at the intersection of Fairview and Roselawn avenues in Roseville, Minnesota.

Roseville Police, St. Anthony Police and the Minnesota State Patrol responded to the crash. Witnesses said in a statement that they saw an Audi that suddenly left the road on Highway 36 and traveled down a steep embankment, crashing through a fence onto Fairview Avenue.

The car then struck the concrete divider and accelerated on Fairview at over 100 mph. As the car reached Roselawn Avenue, it passed a line of cars waiting at an intersection and hit a Ford Escape head-on, forcing the Ford back into the intersection it just left.

Both drivers suffered “substantial bodily injuries” and were transported by ambulance to Hennepin County Medical Center for treatment.

The driver of the Audi is a 49-year-old man from Oakdale, and the driver of the Ford is a 63-year-old man from St. Paul. Police will not identify the drivers until the families are notified.
