BURNSVILLE, Minn. (KMSP) - After causing a disturbance at a Burnsville, Minnesota bar, a St. Paul man threatened to eat a police officer alive and chop off his head. Alex Hershkovitz, 24, is charged in Dakota County with one count of threats of violence for the Sept. 20 incident.
According to the criminal complaint, officers were called to Shooter’s Bar at 1:48 a.m. to deal with Hershkovitz, who was refusing to leave the bar and trying to regain entrance. Hershkovitz refused to identify himself or follow commands. Police later found an ID card in his wallet and learned he had an active warrant for his arrest out of Hennepin County.
Hershkovitz allegedly yelled homophobic slurs and threatened one of the officers and his family. Specifically, Hershkovitz said he was going to “find the officer’s home and go there when the officer was sleeping.” He said he was going to put a gun in the officer’s mouth and ask the officer “who he wanted to go first” – him or his family.
According to the complaint, Hershkovitz told the officer he was going to eat him alive, and said he would make it quick for his family, but for the officer it was going to take “a long f------ while.” Hershkovitz also told the officer he was going to chop his head off.
