MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (KMSP) - The year’s most anticipated game in Minnesota sports is almost here.
The Vikings will kick-off against the Packers in the first season opener in U.S. Bank Stadium history Sunday.
Ticket prices for the game have set records in Minnesota. On Thursday, the average re-sale price was $416, according to Seat Geek.
The ticket re-sale site says the only other event that has seen higher prices was the 2014 MLB All Star Game at Target Field.
Ticket prices did see a 22 percent drop in the last week. On September 8, the average price was $515, but by September 15, it was down to $402.
“It just keeps a fan like me from going to the game,” said Vikings fan Chris Uwimana. He says he’ll be watching the game from home Sunday.
Seat Geek says 11 percent of those looking at tickets on their site are coming from Wisconsin.
Right now Seat Geek is reporting that the Vikings-Packers game is the third most expensive regular season NFL game this season, behind two Patriots home games.
