2 pitbull puppies stolen from north Minneapolis backyard

Two 8-month-old pitbull puppies were stolen in a Minneapolis woman's backyard Monday while she was grabbing the mail. And neighbors were there to witness it.

According to Nicole Hamp, neighbors saw her sister's puppies, Obe and Lucy, being taken by a man in his mid-40's driving a forest green minivan. The incident happened around 2 p.m. near Humboldt and 40th Avenue North in Minneapolis.

"I have been sharing the story on social media in hopes of getting the dogs back or someone identifying the man who took them," Hamp said.

The pitbull puppies are approximately 50 to 60 pounds each. Motive of the dog-napping is unknown.

Hamp said they will be offering a reward to any information that leads to Obe and Lucy's return. Please call (612)723-0976 with leads.
