2 of 3 suspects arrested in violent Maplewood home invasion robbery

MAPLEWOOD, Minn. (KMSP) - Maplewood police have arrested a second suspect in the random home invasion-style robbery on Jan. 2 in which a 75-year-old woman was threatened with a gun and strangled until she was unconscious. The third suspect remains at large.

Police arrested Shonice Lacyra Harmon, 23, of Minneapolis for her role in the robbery. According to Maplewood police, Harmon knocked on the victim’s door at her home on the 700 block of Gervais Avenue around 1:00 pm. Harmon threatened the victim with a gun in order to gain access to her home.

Once inside, Harmon reportedly called Deandre Wims, 25, and another man and let them into the home.
The men ripped the telephone cords from the walls and began ransacking her house, stealing jewelry, credit cards and other items from the victim’s home. One of the men bound the victim's hands behind her back. The other wrapped a cloth around her neck and lifted her off the floor, strangling her to the point of unconsciousness. When she came to, the suspects were gone. 

Harmon was arrested on the probable cause charge of aggravated robbery. Wims is being charged with kidnapping, burglary in the first degree and two counts of aggravated robbery.

Police are still looking for the third suspect involved in the home invasion robbery. He is described as being 20 to 30 years old and is approximately 5’6” to 6’0” tall with short hair.
