Two people from North St. Paul have been charged with swiping packages from a home in Roseville.

The Roseville City Attorney’s Office charged 34-year old Jennifer Hampton and 39-year old Chad Bambach with gross misdemeanor theft on Wednesday.

The daytime thefts occurred on Oct. 23, when $900 worth of packages were delivered to a home on Dale Court North. The attorney’s office credits the theft’s publicity due to the quality of digital imaging on the homeowner’s surveillance system and ensuing media coverage.

On Dec. 7, one of Hampton’s relatives contacted police after seeing a Nov. 30 news story about the theft. A Roseville Detective did additional follow-up, Hampton confessed and named Bambach as her accomplice. Bambach was already in custody on unrelated charges in the Goodhue County Jail.

Hampton has an active gross misdemeanor theft warrant for her arrest and police ask anyone who knows of Hampton’s whereabouts to contact local law enforcement.

If convicted, both face up to one year in prison or a $3,000 fine, or both.
