Elderly couple found dead in Woodbury home

WOODBURY, Minn. (KMSP) - Woodbury Police are investigating two bodies found at a residence on the 8000 block of Spring View Alcove.

Michelle Okada, the Woodbury Police spokeswoman, said at 2:47 p.m. they received a call from someone in the area asking for a welfare check. The person told police newspapers were piling up outside the townhome.

When officers arrived, they found two bodies inside. Police said they were an elderly couple in their 80's and they were found in different bedrooms. They believe the couple had been there since at least Tuesday because that's how far the newspapers went back.

Officers are investigating the case as a murder suicide.

Neighbor Patrick Gonzales told FOX 9 he never expected something like this to happen.

“This particular neighborhood you would expect Mister Rogers to be your neighbor. It’s that kind of neighborhood," said Gonzales.

Police say there is not a public threat at this time.
