This summer's Aquatennial in Minneapolis is being shortened from 10 days to 4 days, with little explanation. And consequently, the Aquatennial Beach Bash on Lake Calhoun is being cut from the usual festivities this year.
"By considering the timeframe and locations, we did decide to move forward without the Aquatennial Beach Bash," the Aquatennial Facebook page announced. "This decision will allow us to refresh the Aquatennial experience and open the door for new and exciting opportunities."
This year's Aquatennial will be taking place from July 22-25. A few confirmed events include Loring Park Family Fun Night, Twin Cities River Rats Water Ski Show, the Lifetime Torchlight 5K, and Target Fireworks. For a full list of this summer's events click here.
