Warm & windy conditions expected this week

- As we have just had our first glimpse at fall and the leaves beginning to change, many of us are prepared to put away our shorts, tank tops, and tees for warmer wear.  But hold on a sec… summer is trying to continue for as long as it can.  A large ridge is building in the center of the country allowing temperatures to climb well passed their seasonal norms and into the almost too warm category.  Southerly winds are pumping in this warm and juicy air which will keep the summer-time feel alive until the end of the week.  Here is the current scenario…

The jet stream is pushed well north into Canada allowing strong southerly winds to transport warm Gulf of Mexico air up into the Great Lakes…

Notice this pattern continues well into Wednesday, and will likely hang on through Thursday before a little clipper can slice into the northern part of the ridge and cool us back to average.
