- A man is dead after he fell into Lake Le Homme Dieu in Alexandria without a life jacket.

The Douglas County Sheriff's Office says they received an emergency call about a man overboard near the Rotary Public Access around 9:15 Saturday morning. A witness said he was testing a new boat and was returning to shore. They lost sight of the boat because of the sun and then saw the man in the water with a boat circling around him.

The man was found in 24 feet of water around 1:30 and has been identified as 29-year-old Brandon Randt of Alexandria.
