KMSP - Another summer is coming to a close and it has been one that has kept our state nice and green. Rain has once again topped the list of words you could use to describe the last couple of months. Near record rains have fallen over the past several months from the Brainerd lakes area over into northern Wisconsin, and even the metro has seen our fair share of water. Officially, the metro sits nearly 2 inches above average for the month of August, and as you can see in the image above, as it stands, we have experienced the 14th wettest month already, with a week to go. While it is exceedingly unlikely that we will break the record set back in 2007, there is more rain in the forecast for the weekend. A top 6 showing wouldn’t be too difficult to obtain as we are just over an inch away from 6th place.
Parts of the metro and Minnesota have seen well over 6 inches for the month so far with spots from Shakopee to Willmar getting nearly 10 inches of rain for the month as seen in the image above.
