GARY, Ind. (KMSP) - Of the 10 most wanted human trafficking fugitives in the nation was arrested by federal agents in Gary, Indiana on Friday after checking into a hospital with a fake name. Jamal Moore, 33, is currently wanted in Hennepin County on a charge of promoting the prostitution of a minor in Minnesota.
A bench warrant was issued for Moore’s arrest after he failed to appear for a pre-trial court date in January 2013. In August 2012, Moore was arrested when an undercover officer with the Minneapolis Police Department arranged to meet a 17-year-old girl through an ad for sex on Backpage.com. Police and federal agents rescued the girl from a Bloomington, Minn. hotel room, and Moore was taken into custody. The girl later told investigators that was her trafficker.
In addition to the charge of promoting prostitution, Moore is wanted in Minnesota on a second charge of felony domestic assault. Moore will be extradited to Minnesota to face these charges.
