ROSEVILLE, Minn. (KMSP) - A controversial car show set to be held at Roselawn Cemetery will be canceled, according to a Facebook post on the cemetery's page.
The "Rods and Stones" car show was scheduled for this weekend at a location on the Roselawn Cemetery campus about 100 yards away from the closest lot. The board of directors met on Wednesday and voted unanimously to cancel the event. A spokesman said cemetery leaders did not want the event to cause any distress to families.
"Please know that it was never our intention to do anything that would be disrespectful or disruptive to any visitor or to the memory of any loved one. To anyone whom we inadvertently offended, we offer our sincere apologies. In addition, we plan to make a contribution on behalf of our members to the Minnesota Street Rod Association’s college fund so that their good work can continue to be supported."
