UND student from West St. Paul dead, no foul play suspected

A University of North Dakota student from West St. Paul was found dead in a Grand Forks home on Saturday morning.

Police said they did not suspect any foul play. Officers responded to a call at about 9 a.m. to the 500 block of Cambridge Street near the Ralph Engelstad Arena.

Emergency workers tried to revive 22-year-old Alex Davis, but he was pronounced dead at Altru Hospital. The University is making counselors available for students seeking support.

"The University of North Dakota community is greatly saddened to learn of the death of Alex Christopher Davis, a student majoring in visual arts in the College of Arts and Sciences from West St. Paul, Minnesota. We extend our heartfelt condolences to Alex's family and friends and they are in our thoughts and prayers," UND President Robert Kelley said in a statement to students and staff.
