Man wanted for allegedly assaulting Lakes Area Police officer

- The Chisago County Sheriff's Office is searching for a man who allegedly pinned an officer in a doorway and hit him with the door repeatedly.

Police believe the suspect is 24-year-old Daniel Joseph Manthey.

According to the Lakes Area Police Facebook page, on Saturday a Lakes Area Police officer responded to a domestic call after 5 a.m. in the city of Lindstrom.

When he arrived, he was told the suspect, Manthey, was inside the home. When the officer met with the Manthey, he attacked the officer unprovoked. Manthey attempted to punch the officer and then pinned him in a doorway and struck him with the door "numerous" times.

The suspect then locked himself in a room, broke through window and got away on a bicycle.

He was last seen in Lindstrom wearing a brown shirt and jeans.
