2 hours of mystery in Barway Collins disappearance

Police in Crystal, Minn. have raised serious questions about the timeline in the disappearance of missing 10-year old Barway Collins. Those unanswered questions are keeping crews near the Mississippi River, where Barway's father, Pierre Collins, was seen just moments after the boy went missing.

"Sometime between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. he was by the river, we know that," Crystal Police Chief Stephanie Revering said.

Collins didn't call police to report his son missing until 6:37 p.m.

Police: Dad 'continues to not be truthful'

How investigators know Pierre Collins was spotted near the Mississippi River, they won't say, and he continues to deny. Police say Collins has changed his story several times during the past week, and he told Nancy Grace a new version Thursday night on national television.

"Because Pierre Collins continues to not be truthful to investigators, we must rely on discovery of other evidence," Chief Revering said.

Who is 'uncle?'

Barway Collins was last seen on Wednesday, March 18 after exiting his school transportation van near the Cedarwood Apartments on the 5400 block of Douglas Drive North. Moments before his disappearance, surveillance video from the van shows Barway looking out the window and saying, "There's my dad" and, "Oh, my uncle's here."

Police are still trying to identify the man referred to an "uncle," but Pierre Collins said that could be anyone.

"In the African community, any of my friends, any of my relatives would be called uncle of auntie," Collins said.

They are asking for anyone who was in this area between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. on Wednesday, March 18 to contact them with any helpful information, particularly if they have photos or videos.
