Connor, a 16-year-old former Seattle SuperSonics fan from Washington, sent personalized hand-written letters to all 30 NBA teams inquiring which team he should root for and why. The amount of detail and research he put into each letter is astounding -- plus it's not too often you see a teen sending hand-written letters these days.
"I sent a letter to all 30 NBA teams asking why I should be their fan since my team the Seattle SuperSonics left in 2008," Connor said on his Reddit post. "Only the Minnesota Timberwolves responded."
Some may call that a clear example of "Minnesota Nice." He said it took him two whole weeks to write 30 different personalized letters with a drawing of their logos.
"I thought I had a better chance of getting a response that way," he said. "It feels more personal."
Here's the letter he sent the Wolves:
Not only did Timberwolves president Chris Wright respond the fastest, but he also added in a signed basketball for him -- which sealed the deal.
"Similar to David Letterman's Top 10 he does every night, here are my top 10 reasons the Timberwolves should be your favorite team," Chris Wright, president of the Timberwolves, said in his letter.
"They were actually the team I was rooting for to send me a response because I love Wiggins," Connor said. "My 2k player is on the Timberwolves, and wolves are my favorite animals."
Before sending the letters, he said his top two picks were Milwaukee and Minnesota.
"Bucks and Timberwolves were my picks," he said. "That's why I took pictures of the letters. Trailblazers would have been nice too since I live in Washington, so making the 5 hour drive to Portland wouldn't be out of the question."
Connor said he doesn't expect to see any other responses from the teams, but if he does he will be "very happy." Though even if another team chooses to respond, Connor said he's already made up his mind.
"I'm probably not switching teams though because a response may be an attempt to compensate for this reddit post," he said. "Needless to say, I'm a Timberwolves fan now!"
He said he'll be staying with Minnesota -- "unless of course Russell Wilson brings the Sonics back tomorrow."
