CHASKA, Minn. (KMSP) - More documents related to Prince Rogers Nelson's estate were filed on Monday, including another claim of heirship.
A South Carolina man filed a notice with Carver County Court, claiming he is Prince’s adopted son.
In the paperwork, Norman Yates Carthens of Barnwell, S.C. states “I know [Prince] left a will and I was an heir.” He says Prince left him $7 million in the will.
Carthens also included a written statement that said he is putting in a claim of $7 million on the estate.
On Monday, Judge Kevin Eide of Carver County also approved protocol for Special Administrator Bremer Trust to ask those claiming heirship to fill out a form about their parentage information. They would fill out this questionnaire before potentially taking a DNA test.
The next hearing in this case has been scheduled for June 27 at 8:30 a.m. at the Carver County Justice Center.
