ROCKFORD TOWNSHIP, Minn. (KMSP) - Wright County deputies were called to Crow Springs Park near Rockford Township after someone called to report the discovery of a body Wednesday morning. First responders found a woman who was “barely alive” and she was taken away from the scene in very critical condition.
The call came in at about 8 a.m. Wednesday as a report of a body found near the entrance of the park. But when police arrived, they found the woman was still alive. She was taken to Buffalo Hospital then airlifted to North Memorial Medical Center.
The Wright County sheriff's office said the woman had obvious signs of injuries, but they wouldn't get any more specific. There were no weapons and no drugs found in the area.
Investigators said they don't know whether the crime happened at Crow Springs Park or if the woman was dumped and left for dead. At this point the victim is unable to talk.
The sheriff's office has been able to identify the woman and they're checking with friends, family and acquaintances to try to piece together what happened.
