BLOOMINGTON, Minn. (KMSP) - The popular burger stand, Shake Shack, is opening its first burger stand at the Mall of America and opening day is just days away.
According to a press release, Shake Shack will officially open in the new Culinary on North space, on the third floor of the recently opened mall expansion, on Thursday, June 9 at 11 a.m. It is the first Shake Shack in Minnesota.
Shake Shack is critically acclaimed and known for its beef burgers and flat-top Vienna beef dogs and spun-fresh frozen custard, craft beer and wine.
The Mall of America location will source beef from cattle raised in Minnesota, in partnership with Revier Cattle Co.
The Mall of America Shack menu will also feature two location-specific frozen custard concretes: Malt of America (vanilla custard, peanut butter sauce, marshmallow sauce, crumbled sugar cone cookie and malt powder) and Butter Coffee Blend (vanilla custard, butter-coffee caramel sauce and shortbread cookie).
Shake Shack will donate five percent of sales from the Malt of America concrete to Open Arms of Minnesota, which provides meals for people living with life-threatening illnesses in the Twin Cities.
Parts of the Mall of America Shack are made of out sustainable or reclaimed items. For example, the walls of the Shack are clad in Minnesota reclaimed barn wood. It also features tabletops made from reclaimed bowling alley lanes.
