Yesterday, Chisago County deputies took a 5th grader into custody for allegedly writing a threatening message on the wall of "the time out room" in Rush City's Jacobson Elementary School.

Summoned by school officials, investigators concluded the student "wrote the message a week ago and their intention was to harm other students," a press release from the Chisago County Sheriff's Office says. Reached for comment, an official with the department declined to provide any specifics about the content of the message.

The student's family told Fox 9 that the boy was getting bullied at school and copes with severe PTSD from a previous family situation. They stressed that he is getting the help he needs and does not pose a serious safety threat to himself or other students.

The student was taken into custody and later released to his family, charged with disorderly conduct in juvenile court.
