Police are investigating the apparent shooting death of a Cottage Grove teacher in Mahtomedi, Minn. on Saturday.
Just after 3 a.m., dispatchers at the Washington County sheriff's office got a call about a shot fired in the area of Highway 244 and 75th Street in Mahtomedi. Deputies found Roseville man David Frigaard, 46, dead at the scene and have arrested Bailey Jordan Garcia, 19 of Pine Springs in connection to the incident. Garcia is in custody at the Washington County Sheriff's Office Jail pending homicide charges.
"The terrible events that transpired last night and took Dave from us will impact our small town forever. Dave Frigaard will be remembered for the great friend, father, husband, business owner, school teacher, gopher football fan he was!"
Washington County sheriff's officials said they will not release more information until Monday.
