Firefighters responded to a fire at the two and a half story home. Crews had to be evacuated from the house due to the amount of fire, which had burned partially through the first floor and porch, making the first floor unstable.

Crews fought the fire from the exterior and re-entered the building a short time later to extinguish the fire in the basement and the first and second floors. The home was heavily damaged but three people were able to escape safely.

One firefighter was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center for evaluation and was treated and released for a minor knee injury. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
