ST. PAUL, Minn. (KMSP) - St. Paul police confirmed a man is dead after an officer-involved shooting early Monday morning in the 700 block of Buffalo Street just north downtown.
Police were called to the 100 block of Acker Street on report of a man with a gun at 3:30 a.m., and officers were given a description of a man and woman who had left the area on foot. They were located near the intersection of Buffalo and Acker streets, and "after making contact with the parties," shots were fired by St. Paul officers, police said.
Both were treated for injuries on-scene, and the woman was taken to Regions but the man was pronounced dead on-scene.
The Minnesota BCA is handling the investigation.
One witness described hearing 5 to 6 shots, officers commanding a suspect to drop something, then 7 to 10 more shots.
