BLAINE, Minn. (KMSP) - Police in Blaine, Minn. have made an arrest in a hit-and-run crash that killed a man who was getting his mail Thursday night. The crash happened just after 9 p.m. in a quiet neighborhood on the 2200 block of 119th Avenue.
Police said the victim was struck and killed while he was on the sidewalk. Neighbors said the man was getting his mail at the time, and a nearby mailbox was also knocked over.
Hours later, police found the car on the 2000 block of 118th Ave NE and arrested the driver, identified as 27-year-old Adam Joseph Rodman.
Blaine police said the Initial investigation indicates Rodman was driving reckless in the area when he struck another car and then hit the pedestrian on the sidewalk. Police believe alcohol may have been a factor in the crash.
The Anoka County Attorney’s Office is reviewing the case for possible formal criminal charges.
