Malala Yousafzai to speak at Target Center in July

- Malala Yousafzai, the youngest ever recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize and worldwide education advocate, will speak at the Target Center in Minneapolis this July.

In October 2012, then 15-year-old Yousafzai was shot by the Taliban on the bus on her way home from school in northern Pakistan. She went back to school six months later.

Yousafzai now lives in England with her family and has since become internationally known for her courage and her dedication to fighting for the right to education for every child, particularly girls.

Yousafzai was named one of Time Magazine's 100 Most Influential People in 2013. Her commitment to her cause also earned her the Nobel Peace Prize in 2014. She is the youngest person to ever receive this award.

She is the author of the international bestseller I am Malala and the subject of the documentary "He Named Me Malala," which was released last October.

Yousafzai will speak about her life and experiences and host a Q&A with the audience at the Target Center on July 26 at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets go on sale on April 18.
