12 confirmed measles cases in Minnesota

The Minnesota Department of Health confirmed another measles case, bringing the total to 12 cases.

All of the cases are in Hennepin County and involve Somali-American children who were not vaccinated. All the children are five years old or younger.

Symptoms involve high fever, cough, and runny nose followed by a rash that covers the entire body.

Health officials say the best protection against the virus is getting vaccinated.
