Polk County teens severely burned fueling weekend bonfire

- A pair of teenagers in Polk County, Minn. are being treated for severe burns at Hennepin County Medical Center after a weekend bonfire burned more than 50 percent of their bodies.

While fueling the fire, a gas can exploded at a bonfire in Lengby, Minn. and left Savannah Munter, 18, and Allen Halland, 16, both Fosston High School students, with severe burns. Allen's stepbrother, who is Savannah's boyfriend, is credited with saving them, family members told WDAZ-TV.

Allen had his first major surgery but will need more this week to finish excising the damaged tissue. He is currently on a ventilator and will need to be at the burn center for at least a month. Savannah is set to have surgery on Wednesday, according to their GoFundMe pages.
