1 seriously injured in Andover, Minn. hit-and-run

The Anoka County sheriff’s office is investigating a hit-and-run that seriously injured a man in Andover, Minnesota, Sunday evening. 

The victim, a 38-year-old man who lives in the area, was walking home on the frontage road of Round Lake Boulevard near G-Will Liquors when he was hit by a vehicle traveling northbound, the sheriff’s office said. A person who did not witness the accident happened upon the victim and called 911 to report the accident. 

At 8:22 p.m., deputies arrived on scene and found the victim lying in the road with injuries consistent with being struck by a vehicle. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he remains in serious, but stable condition. 

There are no known witnesses to the accident. Investigators are going through surveillance video from nearby businesses for a possible suspect vehicle.
