1 dead after pedestrian crash in St. Cloud
ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KMSP) - UPDATE: St. Cloud officials identified the victim as Mohammed Aga Intale, 84, of St. Cloud Thursday.
A pedestrian is dead after a hit-and-run crash in St. Cloud Wednesday afternoon.
Around 2 p.m., officers responded to the scene on the 500 block of First Street North.
There, authorities discovered a pedestrian had been walking south on Fifth Avenue when he was struck by a vehicle traveling west on First Street North.
The victim was taken to St. Cloud Hospital where he died from his injuries.
The driver fled the scene of the accident, but several witnesses helped officers identify the striking vehicle.
Later, officers found Jeremiah Markus Brown, 20, of St. Cloud at his residence on 12th Avenue North in St. Cloud where he was arrested and taken to Stearns County Jail.
The investigation into this incident is underway and the State Patrol is assisting.
The victim’s identification won’t be released until his family is notified.
