Recipe: Pepperoni pizza chili

- Pizza and chili together—what could be better? Awesome for lazy weekends or game day fare. Customize it to your favorite pizza toppings, even doing it vegetarian style. 


2 lbs. ground beef

1 lb hot Italian sausage

1 large onion, chopped

1 green pepper, chopped

1 tbsp. minced garlic

1 16-oz. jar mild salsa

1 16-oz. jar hot chili beans, undrained

1 16 oz. jar kidney beans, rinsed and drained

1 12 oz. jar pizza sauce

1 8 oz. package thick-slice pepperoni. quartered

2 c. beef stock or water

1 tbsp. chili powder

2 tbsp. Penzey's Frozen Pizza Seasoning

1/2 tsp. salt

1/2 tsp. pepper

shredded mozzarella cheese



In a Dutch oven, cook the beef, sausage, onion and green pepper over medium heat until meat is cooked through.  Drain.

Place back into the pot and add the remaining ingredients, cooking for an additional 20 mins - serve with shredded cheese over top.
