38 empty Minneapolis storefronts turned into walking art gallery

Brilliance unites 38 empty storefront windows in downtown Minneapolis that have been transformed into a walking art gallery.

You have 38 reasons to go window shopping in downtown Minneapolis, and it will cost your nothing. Brilliance! Made Here is the third art exhibition to transform empty storefront windows into showcases of Minnesota-made art.

This "urban walking gallery" is open 24 hour a day, but it's best viewed after dark. Brilliance! Made Here challenged artists to interpret light in creative ways, using reflective materials, videos, projection or fiber art, for example.

"The theme pays tribute to the light-filled spirit of the holiday season and the art-filled window showcases aim to bring back the tradition of downtown holiday 'window shopping' and family viewing of seasonal displays," organizers said.
