Just in time for the 200th anniversary of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, the Guthrie returns to its roots with a whole-heartedly Minnesota adaptation.  Sending fresh energy into the age-old science fiction thriller, Frankenstein - Playing with Fire opens the 2018-2019 Guthrie Theater season.

Written by Minnesota playwright Barbara Field, the adaptation was previously performed at the Guthrie in July of 1988.  This year's production celebrates that work on its 30th anniversary.

The actor behind the title character, Zachary Fine (Frankenstein), recently stopped by the FOX 9 Buzz to discuss the show.  You can watch his appearance above.

The show runs through October 27. For tickets and more information, visit guthrietheater.org
